Resumen

La quemadura se describe como una lesión traumática provocada por varios agentes posibles (biológicos, térmicos, químicos, mecánicos o eléctricos) que involucran diferentes capas de la piel en cierto grado. Se considera uno de los problemas de salud pública más devastadores debido a sus graves consecuencias físicas, funcionales y psicosociales. La evaluación inicial y el manejo del paciente quemado en las unidades asistenciales donde reciben la primera atención de emergencia resulta de gran valor en su evolución y pronóstico ya que los detalles de la clasificación de quemaduras tanto como la reanimación se realizan simultáneamente en las primeras horas de transcurrido el evento. La finalidad de este articulo va orientado al estudio de conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas sobre el diagnóstico y manejo del paciente quemado para así poder dejar pasmado más aportes científicos que contribuyan a una calidad de atención optima que disminuya las complicaciones causas por este problema de salud.
