Traumatismo dental en niños diagnóstico y tratamiento

Las lesiones dentales traumáticas (LDT) o trauma dental tienen una prevalencia global del 10-15%. Estas a menudo son la causa de la primera visita a la sala de emergencias. El pronóstico de los dientes después de una lesión depende del tipo de LDT, del tratamiento de emergencia y del tiempo transcurrido hasta la atención definitiva. El bajo nivel de conciencia sobre las lesiones dentales traumáticas (LDT) en el público general y en los médicos a menudo lleva a retrasos en la búsqueda de tratamiento que a su vez provoca dolor, síntomas graves y mal pronóstico. Los pediatras pueden desempeñar un papel significativo en la identificación de LDT, la consejería de salud, la atención de emergencia y la derivación a dentistas. Este artículo destaca las características importantes que se deben tener en cuenta en los niños con antecedentes de LDT y los pasos clave que se deben tomar en estas situaciones.
