Tratamiento temprano de mordida cruzada anterior: revisión de la literatura

Objetivo: Analizar la información actual sobre el tratamiento temprano de la mordida cruzada anterior. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó una revisión bibliogrófica no sistemótica en las bases digitales: BVS Regional y PubMed de las que se extrajeron 34 artículos científicos publicados de los íºltimos cinco años y que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Resultados: Se revisaron y analizaron los estudios referentes al tratamiento temprano de mordida cruzada anterior cuyos principales hallazgos fueron diagnóstico diferencial, tratamiento temprano, protocolos de atención y eficacia del tratamiento. Conclusión: El anólisis del tratamiento temprano de la mordida cruzada anterior es relevante debido a que permite conocer el enfoque de atención actual para abordar de manera temprana y prevenir o disminuir las afecciones físicas y psicoemocionales que provocan estas alteraciones. Diferentes protocolos de atención se encontraron en esta revisión que tienen efectos esqueléticos y dentoalveolares para la resolución de la maloclusión. Sin embargo, se debe tener en cuenta factores genéticos y ambientales que tienen efectos negativos en el resultado del tratamiento.
